Commemoration of the September 11 Terrorist Attacks – During both the 8:00 and 10:00 services, we will remember all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 in the terrorist attacks on our country. This should be a moving service, which would be especially appropriate if you would like to invite friends who might appreciate coming to church on that day.
First Day of Sunday School – A new season of Sunday School will begin in the Education Building. Details on class subjects and classroom locations are listed elsewhere in this book.
Welcome back Picnic – As part of the return to the program year, the Youth Group will sponsor a welcome back picnic on the patio (weather permitting) after the 10:00 service. Everyone is welcome.

Bishop’s Visit & Confirmation – Our Provisional Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Kenneth Price will be with us at the 8:00 and 10:00 services for his annual visit. He will administer the sacrament of Confirmation at the 10:00 service.

The 146th Annual Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh – Christ Church is the host parish for this year’s Diocesan Convention. Over the course of two days, the clergy of the diocese and delegates from each of the nearly 30 parishes will gather to discuss diocesan business, elect people to various positions and worship together. This convention will also serve as the precursor to the special convention in April to elect the 8th Diocesan Bishop.

All Saints’ Sunday– The Sunday we celebrate all of the saints who have gone before us. (November 1 is the actual All Saints’ Day.) It is also an appropriate time to offer the Sacrament of Baptism for those who desire it. It will be held at the 10:00 service.

Cookbook Tasting Event – Parishioners who submitted recipes to the new cookbook will be invited to make one of the dishes they submitted for a tasting event following the 10:00 service. This will not be a competition but rather an opportunity to try some of the tasty recipes that will be found in the cookbook.

Advent Brunch – Please join your parish family for the 9th annual Advent Brunch in the Undercroft immediately following the 10:00 service All are welcome and there is no cost to attend. However, we do ask that you contribute a food item to share.

Story Time with Santa – From 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Santa Claus will visit the children in the Undercroft to share some hot cocoa and treats and a story or two. This is a much-loved annual event sponsored by the Soul Sisters. Wear your pjs and bring your favorite blanket or pillow.

Children’s Christmas Pageant – The Annual Christ Church Christmas Pageant will be held during the 10:00 service. The pageant is open to all children. Additionally, we invite everyone to bring a gift of a canned good to the Baby Jesus. Your offering will be distributed to the needy in our area.
